Brands

A brand is the manufacturer of a material — for example Daikin, Mitsubishi, Rheem, or Caroma. Each brand carries a name, an optional description, and a logo. Materials in your pricebook are linked to a brand so you can:

  • Show the brand on quotes and take-off sheets.
  • Filter your pricebook by brand.
  • Keep consistent presentation across all your materials.

Brands are separate from Suppliers — a brand is who makes the product, a supplier is who you buy it from.

In the sidebar, click VendorsBrands. You will see the list of brands available in your workspace.

  1. Click VendorsBrands in the sidebar.

  2. Click Add brand.

  3. Enter the Name (for example “Daikin”).

  4. Add an optional Description if it helps your team.

  5. Upload a logo (PNG or JPG). The logo appears next to the brand name on quotes and material lists.

  6. Click Save.

The new brand is now available when you add or edit a material.

Click the brand row in the list, update the fields in the dialog, and click Save. Existing materials linked to the brand pick up the new name and logo automatically.

If you no longer source a brand, archive it instead of deleting:

  1. Open VendorsBrands.

  2. Find the row, open the actions menu, and choose Archive.

Archived brands are hidden from new material entries but existing materials still display the brand name and logo on quotes.

Use the row’s actions menu and choose Duplicate to create a copy of an existing brand. brix appends “(Copy)” to the name so you can edit it before saving.

What if a brand is sold by more than one supplier?

That’s the point of keeping brands and suppliers separate. Set the brand on the material so the brand info travels with it, and set the supplier independently to record where you bought it.

Will deleting a brand affect existing quotes?

Brand info is captured on the material at the time the quote was built. Removing or archiving a brand in Vendors → Brands does not change existing quotes, but it does remove the brand from the picker for new materials.

Why isn’t the brand logo showing on my quote?

Check three things: the brand has a logo uploaded; the material is linked to the brand; the quote template includes the brand column. If all three are right and the logo still doesn’t show, ask your admin to check the template.

Brand not appearing when editing a material

Only active brands appear in the brand picker. Open Vendors → Brands, toggle the archived filter, and confirm the brand is not archived.

Logo upload fails

Brix accepts PNG and JPG. Make sure the file is under your workspace’s upload size limit. Try resizing the image if the upload fails repeatedly.
